Just a little yoga

Just a little yoga

Hi! I’ll try to keep this brief, but I also hope that my passion and experience spills out through this page.

Do I have credentials?

Yes! I have a degree in Kinesiology, which means I have an in-depth understanding of how the body moves and how to keep exercise safe. I am an American College of Sports Medicine (gold standard in certifying organizations) Certified Exercise Physiologist®. I'm certified to assess fundamental movement patterns using the Functional Movement Systems screen. I also hold specialty credentials in TRX suspension training, Functional Programming for Females, and Prenatal/Postpartum Exercise Design. I’m also certified to teach K-12 Health and Physical Education, which means not only do I support moms and their fitness goals, but I encourage an active family as well.

What about experience?

With over fifteen years in the health and fitness industry, I’ve helped hundreds of people make healthier choices, become more active and reach their fitness goals. In addition to working with women in all stages of motherhood, my career background includes: corporate wellness, group exercise instruction, personal training, small group training, coaching track and field, teaching health and physical education, implementing childhood obesity prevention programming, facilitating nutrition workshops, designing nutrition and physical activity programs for families and managing school and community-based prevention and maternal health programs. My motivation for starting Active Mom Fitness can be found here.

What do I do for physical activity?

I enjoy walks around Philly and hiking the Wissahickon with my daughter. When I'm working out solo, I love sprint workouts or running, spin classes if the music’s good, strength training while listening to a good book or podcast, and let’s not forget quick bodyweight workouts at the playground.

I hope this introduction encourages you to learn more about Active Mom Fitness services or even introduce yourself.
