philly 10k post pregnancy goal

Hi! I’ll try to keep this brief, but I also hope that my passion and experience spills out through this page.

Do I have credentials?

Yes! I have a degree in Kinesiology, which means I have an in-depth understanding of how the body moves and how to keep exercise safe. I am an American College of Sports Medicine (gold standard in certifying organizations) Certified Exercise Physiologist®. I follow cutting edge information as it’s published and incorporate it into my services. I’m also certified to teach K-12 Health and Physical Education, which means not only can I support moms, but the health and activity level of the entire family is important to me as well.

What about experience?

With over fifteen years in the health and fitness industry, I’ve helped hundreds of people make healthier choices, understand nutrition, become more active and reach their fitness goals. My career background includes: corporate wellness, group exercise instruction, personal training, small group training, coaching track and field, teaching health and physical education, implementing childhood obesity prevention programming, facilitating nutrition workshops, designing nutrition and physical activity programs for families and managing school and community-based prevention and maternal health programs. My motivation for starting Active Mom Fitness can be found here.

What do I do for physical activity?

Currently, I chase after my toddler! But, in addition to that I also enjoy family walks and hikes, a good sprint workout or run, spin classes if the music’s good, strength training while listening to a good book or podcast and let’s not forget quick bodyweight workouts at the playground.

I hope this introduction encourages you to learn more about Active Mom Fitness services or even introduce yourself.
